DIY: Craft Store Statement Necklace

Want to make a fashion statement, but not break the bank? I feel you on that. Statement necklaces are a great way to add a little ‘bang, boom, pow’ to your wardrobe. However… like anything else that is ‘now’ in fashion, they can get a bit pricey. These super cute necklaces are so easy and fun to make,
plus you can customize the color to suit your taste!

Here is what you will need:
  • Wood crafting beads (I found mine at Michaels)
  • Acrylic paint in bright, assorted colors
  • Ball chain necklaces or even simple string
  • Mod Podge (I chose matte finish)

How to:
Start by painting your wood beads in an assortment of bright colors. I found that the beads fit perfectly onto the end of a thin paintbrush, making is easy to paint the entire bead without smudging the paint. Let your beads dry completely before applying your Mod Podge sealant. Once dry, arrange on your ball chain or string. I chose to alternate two colors per necklace of 6 beads each.

I am just so in love with this project! You can make multiple necklaces with just one pack of wood beads, for only a few dollars! Make some to give as fun, personalized gifts. People will be impressed!
Happy statement-making!
