Surprise Pumpkin Candy Favors

Need a last minute idea for your Thanksgiving holiday party tomorrow? This little project is easy, fun, and really cute! My mom works at an elementary school, and she gifted me one of these little pumpkins back in October. First of all, the packaging was the cutest, and opening it up was really exciting ( I really live on the edge, could you tell??). Inside was a little candy treasure, so ripping up the cute packaging was totally justified. I made a bunch to put on each place setting at our Thanksgiving table. A little, fun treat for each guest when they join us for dinner. Who wouldn't be thankful for that?!

What you need:
  • Orange tissue paper, cut into 5 inch squares
  • Green streamer paper
  • Ferrero Rocher candy
How to:

Place one Ferrero Rocher candy (wrapped) in the middle of one orange tissue square. Gather all of the ends up over the top center of the candy.

Twist the tissue paper together into a little point. This will be your pumpkin stem. The tissue should stay firmly closed when you release it from your fingers.

Cut a thin strip (about 1.5 to 2 cm) of green streamer paper off of the end of the roll. Fold it in half, lengthwise. Folding it in half will make it stronger and less likely to tear when you complete the next step. Wrap it around the base of the point or stem, and twist the ends together. These are your leaves.

Cut the point off the top to make a flat stem. Voila!

If you want to get fancy, you can attach a name or greeting to each one!

Happy Holidays!
