Palm Springs: Moorten Botanical Garden

A few weeks ago, we were planning our Anniversary trip, but we were trying to come up with something different. We usually go to a B&B near the beach somewhere, which is great, but we were itching to venture out. I found a great recommendation off of the popular blog A Beautiful Mess, all about Palm Springs, and the photos convinced us that this would be a trip worth taking. We were not disappointed, and even though we only stayed one night, it felt like a long weekend.

The first place we visited was the Moorten Botanical Garden: A beautiful cactus, succulent and desert-plant garden. The garden is small (you can walk through it in under 10 minutes and see everything), but impressive, complete with a truly magical, little greenhouse. I like to think of it as the Secret Garden of the desert. There is also a little Spanish-style villa where you can host weddings and events! The best part, in my opinion, is the cute tortoise family and succulent nursery at the end of the tour. They sell various kinds of desert plants for dirt cheap (no pun intended), and I snagged a few of my own friends to take home and add to the family.

There is so much more to share about this fun trip! Palm Springs is so much fun to explore, and this is definitely a place to stop if you visit. Next time I'll share more about where we stayed (the best part!).
